Azamgarh police have arrested an individual accused of raping a minor, apprehending him following an encounter within 24 hours of the complaint. The incident occurred when the child was alone at home, with her parents out for essential work. The accused allegedly entered the house and committed the horrific deed.
Upon returning home, the parents were informed by the child and promptly filed a complaint at the police station. Authorities registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and immediately launched a search for the suspect. According to SP City Madhuban Kumar Singh, police from Mehnagar station received information that the accused, identified as Javed, was attempting to flee.

In a controlled retaliatory firing by the police, the accused sustained a bullet wound to his right leg. He was subsequently arrested and admitted to a hospital for treatment. A country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from his possession. Police stated that strict action would be taken against the accused.
