Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav set the example for the residents as he cleaned the part of Upper Lake near Sheetal Das Ki Bagiya in Bhopal under 'Jal Ganga Abhiyan'. The CM, on Tuesday morning, was spotted wearing rubber gloves, holding a stick in hand, and removing the waste materials and garlands from the water.
He collected all the waste and unwanted material floating on the lake in bamboo baskets.

Bhopal Mayor Malini Rai, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, BJP MLAs Rameshwar Sharma and Bhagwandas Sabnani, and other BJP leaders were present on the occasion.
The people present at Upper Lake were surprised to see CM participating in the cleanliness drive. It is a normal practice at Sheetal Das Ki Bagiya that devotees throw used garlands and other “Pooja” material in the water of the upper lake. The thrown “Pooja” material thus pollutes the water of the upper lake.
Later, the Chief Minister also visited Purani Bawdi of Bada Bagh and inspected the cleanliness work being done under 'Jal Ganga Samvardhan Yojana'.

The Purani Bawdi (steepwell), once turned into a dump yard-like spot, now looks like a historical place. Cooperation of locals under Jal Ganga Abhiyan, has helped revive the Bawdi, also leading to improve in the water quality.
