With Team India star batter Virat Kohli set to play his first Test since January 2024, the former skipper seems to be gearing up strongly for the same. The Chepauk Stadium in Chennai saw the 35-year-old break a wall with a massive shot as a picture of the same is going viral on social media.

The Delhi-born cricketer last played a Test during the two-game series in South Africa and sat out of the subsequent five-match bout against England on home soil. With his wife Anushka Sharma expecting their second child, Kohli choose to stay with his wife.

He did play in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which India lost 2-0, but Kohli struggled to get going.

Meanwhile, the veteran cricketer has plenty of records to break in his sight. Kohli needs only 58 runs to become the fastest to complete 27000 runs in international cricket, thereby surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record. He will become the fourth cricketer after Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, and Ricky Ponting to do so.

While he will be the slowest to the feat, the 35-year-old requires 152 runs to scale the 9000-run mark in Tests, with fellow Indians Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Rahul Dravid in the list.
