Badlapur Akshay Shinde Encounter: Badlapur sexual abuse accused snatched revolver from police van and opened fire, police did encounter in retaliation

Akshay Shinde, the accused arrested in the case of exploitation of innocent girls in Badlapur school of Mumbai, tried to attack the policemen by snatching their service revolver while in police custody, after which the police also opened fire in retaliation.

When the police was bringing Akshay Shinde from Taloja jail, he suddenly snatched the police's weapon in the police car. After this, Shinde fired 3 to 4 rounds, in which police officers were injured. This unexpected attack shook the police force.

In response to this firing, the police also fired back, in which Akshay Shinde was shot. Seriously injured Shinde was immediately admitted to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead shortly after. The police is now investigating the entire case, in which the accused tried to break the police security and attack. Since the case is of death in police custody, a magisterial inquiry is also certain to be conducted in the entire case.

What is the whole matter?

Akshay joined the school on August 1 and the sexual abuse of the girls took place on August 12 and 13. Akshay Shinde, a 23-year-old sweeper at Adarsh school, sexually abused both the girls. After this, both the girls started fearing to go to school. The parents got suspicious. They took the girl into confidence and questioned her, then the matter came to light. A parent contacted the parents of another girl of the same class. When the doctor examined, the real incident came to light. Senior police inspector Shubhada Shitole delayed filing an FIR despite it being a POCSO case. She was later suspended.

The parents of the girls lodged a complaint with the Badalpur police station with the help of social workers. Two days later, a case was registered late night on Friday, August 16. The accused was arrested on August 17. The accused Akshay was appointed on contract in the school on August 1. The girls used to call the accused Dada. During police interrogation, it was revealed that the girl used to call him Dada (Marathi word for elder brother). According to the girl, 'Dada' removed her clothes and touched her inappropriately. There was no female staff in the school where this incident took place.
