Gudiya Kumari, a resident of Sapaha village in Masrakh police station area, was married to Manish Kumar Singh in 2019. Ever since the marriage, Gudiya was facing harassment for dowry at her in-laws' house. Gudiya's brother, Mukesh Kumar Singh, has alleged that his sister was constantly physically and mentally tortured for dowry. Even on the day of Rakshabandhan, his sister was beaten up. This allegation proves that Gudiya's married life was extremely painful and she was suffering from the sting of dowry.

Allegation of dowry harassment, there was dispute since marriage

On Sunday night, Manish Kumar Singh took his wife to Bangra bridge on the pretext of a stroll and threw her into the Gandak river. After this, he called Gudiya's family and told them that his wife slipped from the bridge and fell into the river while taking a selfie. Hearing this, Gudiya's family immediately reached Bangra Ghat and started searching for her. Along with this, local CO Gautam Singh and the NDRF team also reached the spot and started a search operation in the river.

NDRF Inspector Ravi Khan said that he had received information from the CO that a woman had fallen from the bridge, after which his team conducted a search operation in the river with two boats. However, despite many efforts, the body of the woman has not been found yet. The NDRF team is constantly engaged in searching for the woman, but so far they have not got any success.
