Diwali of Nepal
The festival of lights i.e. Diwali is also celebrated in India's neighboring country Nepal. In Nepal, this festival is called 'Swanti'. Like India, a 5-day festival is celebrated in Nepal too. On the first day, people feed crows, and on the second day, dogs. On the third day, Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped and Nepal Samvat also begins from this day. The fourth day is celebrated as the New Year and on the fifth day, Bhai Tika takes place, which is celebrated like Bhai Dooj.
Diwali in Malaysia and Singapore
Diwali is also celebrated in countries like Malaysia and Singapore. On this occasion, there is a government holiday in Singapore and cultural programs are organized. Diwali in Malaysia is also very famous. In Malaysia, the festival of Diwali is celebrated in the seventh month of the Hindu solar calendar.
Diwali in Sri Lanka
After the killing of Ravana by Lord Shri Ram, his brother Vibhishana became the king of Lanka. Vibhishana had ordered Deepotsav to symbolize the victory of good over evil. Since then, the tradition of celebrating this festival by lighting lamps on the day of Amavasya started in Sri Lanka and even today Diwali is celebrated here.

The festival of lights is celebrated every year in Scotland, which is known as 'Up Helly Aa'. This is a form of Diwali, in which people here dress up like ancient sea warriors and take out a procession with torches in their hands. During this time the whole city is surrounded by light.
Diwali in Japan
The 'Onyo Fire Festival', which starts every year in January, is the oldest in Japan. This festival is celebrated like Diwali, in which the cities are lit up with lights. During this time six torches are lit which is a symbol of ending disaster. The Japanese wear white clothes on this day and show amazing stunts while rotating torches.
Diwali in Canada
Every year on November 5 in Canada, Guy Fawkes Night i.e. Bonfire Night is celebrated, which is also known as 'Newfoundland Tradition'. It is celebrated exactly like Diwali. On this day there are a lot of fireworks and people dance and sing a lot.
