It comes after the hit Netflix series Adolescence won big at this week's NTAs, scooping up Best New Drama, beating Rivals, Code of Silence, Ludwig, and MobLand.

Owen Cooper also won the Best Drama Performance award for playing teen killer Jamie Miller in the show, beating his co-star Stephen Graham to the crown. However, the 15-year-old wasn't able to attend the show as he was off to the US in preparation for the Emmys.

Instead, his award was accepted by co-star Amari Bacchus. The teen had also recorded a video message, in which he thanked his co-stars, crew and fans.

"Never could I have believed that this show, Adolescence, would change my life in the way that it has," he said. "It’s the fact that the viewers who voted for this, it just shows what a powerful, impactful show that we all got to make."

Owen is also nominated for an Emmy this weekend for Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. If he takes home the gong, he will be the youngest-ever male winner in the 76-year history of the award show.
