Send Push

There was a worrying discovery on on Wednesday, that gave away a character's real identity.

It seems they've been hiding their real name from Weatherfield residents, and it led to one character realising he shared a shocking link to them. was rumbled as the van driver harassing Chesney Brown in the latest episode, months after the incidents took place.

Chesney had his car damaged and was being watched by the man in the van, which later turned out to be newcomer Mick. Chesney finally figured this out on Wednesday night, and with that he realised he could be in danger.

His wife Gemma Winter feared what would happen if the truth came out after Chesney faced trouble just months earlier. He'd poured sugar into the fuel tank of the van causing it damage, which left Chesney being questioned by police.

Chesney had to go to court and was handed a hefty fine, but at no point did he meet the driver. Wednesday's episode saw Mick's identity as the driver finally confirmed to Chesney though.

That wasn't all though as Chesney made a big realisation after his initial discovery. He told Gemma that Mick can't be his real name as it was not the name of the driver he was forced to pay damages to.

He found the letter from the court date and on it said the name of the driver, and therefore Mick's real name. As Chesney predicted, it proved Mick was not his actual name, with this actually being Mark Michaelis.

It then hit Gemma that this is the name Lou called her husband when they rowed, with her realising Mick must be a nickname that is short for his surname, Michaelis. With that Chesney and Gemma feared what would happen to them if Mick and Lou found out what Chesney had done.

After all they'd been "good to them", giving them a free TV and even offering them a roof box for their holiday. Chesney had been supporting Mick after his run-in with Ronnie Bailey, that led to his van tyres being slashed.

Mick demanded Ronnie pay up for the damage, revealing he had a dash cam in the van that exposed his crime. Chesney panicked, realising there could be footage of him too.

But Mick then claimed that he only got the camera from a friend after someone damaged his van. He didn't tell Chesney whether or not he knew it was him, but he made dark hints about what would happen if his mates crossed him.

It comes after the news that Mick and Lou will be leaving the show in the summer, and that they were only introduced as part of a key storyline. A Coronation Street spokesperson told The : "This is not a surprise exit or early departure. Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt."
