Spring has finally arrived, and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to ditch the heavy jumpers and bring out some lighter outfits. If you’re looking to give your wardrobe a little seasonal refresh, Roman is a great place to start. The hidden gem of a brand has stylish, easy-to-wear pieces that don’t break the bank, and their dresses this season are especially good. Whether you need something for work, weekends, or just an excuse to get dressed up, it has you covered.
I picked up a bunch of dresses recently, and honestly, I’m impressed. These four I'm about to dive into tick all the boxes – flattering, comfy and perfect for spring. Here’s what I tried and why they’ve earned a spot in my wardrobe...

You can’t go wrong with denim, and this is such a winner. In fact, it reminds me of a Nobody's Child dress for double the price. It’s got that relaxed, slightly vintage look, and the belt helps to give it a nice shape. It’s one of those dresses that you can throw on and feel instantly put together. Wear it with trainers for a casual day out or dress it up with ankle boots and a leather or suede bomber. Super versatile and definitely a new go-to for me.
The Pinstripe Shirt DressI wanted a dress that could take me from weekend breaks on the coast to warm days where I just wanted something breezy to layer under a light jacket, and this fulfils both briefs. I actually think I'll wear this mostly as a beach dress because I think it would look incredible over the top of a white swimsuit or bikini. Just add some gold jewellery and some oversized sunglasses for a very 'St Topez' like look.
The Textured Stripe Belted Shirt DressThis pinstripe belted dress gives serious ‘put-together but not trying too hard’ energy. It’s structured enough to look smart, but the relaxed fit keeps it comfortable. Perfect for work, which is ideal because I never know what to wear that's both comfortable and professional enough for office wear, but also great for those days when you want to look a little more polished. I’ll be wearing mine with chunky sandals and a tote bag for an easy, breezy spring outfit.
The Petite Wrap Knitted Dress
Spring might be here, but let’s be real – there are still some chilly days ahead. That’s why I had to grab this ivory wrap knitted dress. It’s warm but not too heavy, and the wrap design makes it really flattering. I’m already picturing it with knee-high boots or even ballet flats and some gold jewellery. It's not really to my own personal style, but I had to include it for how thick the fabric feels and how nicely it fits.
If you’re on the lookout for more cute spring dresses, Roman has loads of great options. But if you're shopping around, make sure you The standout features plenty of suede pieces that play into the 'cowboy core' trend that's still riding high. You'll also find pops of cherry red, cow print, and some of the brand's best-selling bomber-fit jackets in updated textures.
From an to rival & Other Stories' in-demand coat, to a cropped utility jacket that started going viral on social media before it even had the chance to drop on the website, we can safely say has secured itself the position of our favourite fashion retailer once more.
