Inside Dave Grohl's family after love child bombshell as cheating comes as 'hammer blow'

Rocker Dave Grohl’s infidelity admission has hit his wife and family “like a hammer blow”, sources say.

The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, is fighting for his marriage to model Jordyn Blum after admitting he has fathered a child with another woman. His confession came almost a year after rumours first began circulating that he had been unfaithful to Jordyn, 48.

And one source last night insisted that his affair was not just a one-night stand, but a relationship. They said: “Dave has been involved with this woman for some time, and members of his team were aware of it. Her pregnancy has of course changed the situation dramatically – and he has come clean because he wants to do right by her and her child.”

“But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s an absolute hammer blow for his wife and his entire family. They are all reeling as they try to come to terms with this bombshell and piece their lives back together. It is an unbelievably hard time for them.”

Former Nirvana drummer Dave, who is known as a family man and regularly invites 18-year-old daughter Violet to sing with him on stage, shocked the music world with his announcement.

He said: “I have recently become the father to a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Dave and Jordyn wed in 2003 and share daughters Violet, Harper and Ophelia. His three-year marriage to photographer Jennifer Youngblood ended because of his infidelity.

Born in Warren, Ohio, Dave joined Nirvana in 1990 alongside Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic.

After Kurt died by suicide in 1994, Dave formed Foo Fighters. In 2022, his friend and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins died of a drug overdose.
