Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer took to her TikTok page to ask fans for help after revealing she was diagnosed with perimenopause. The actress, best known for playing the Jacqueline Wilson character from 2002 to 2005 and reprising the role several times over the years, said the diagnosis took a huge toll on her hair.
"I have been diagnosed with perimenopause," she said to her followers. "And what I need your help with is my hair. I am losing it like it is thinning so badly like you can see like the bald patches coming in but just like the texture. It's thinning - it's bad right." Dani went on to ask whether she should buy extensions, but was concerned it could make her lose more hair.

"It could be a terrible idea. it might make my hair even worse to be honest but it's really getting me down now!" she continued before revealing she's also taking supplements every day.
Dani said her husband, Simon, was the one who noticed changes in her, including a difference in her personality as well as an increase in her depression and anxiety.
She also suffered from brain fog, night terrors and more.
The star has been on HRT for close to two years and has been 'feeling like herself again'. So far, the only lasting side effect has been the hair loss and the "odd hot flush and stuff".
"I’m definitely no expert at all! But if anyone has any questions I’ll try and answer using my experiences," she said in the caption.
Fans rushed to the comment section to share their support, with some even offering advice. One user said: "I think I’m suffering with perimenopause too! Kinda scary as I’m 34, but this video makes me feel so much better about it."
"Get some collagen powder! I have mine in a morning coffee and you can’t taste it, if anything it makes it creamier," one person said and another posted: "I have perimenopause i used rosemary oil and Jamaican black castor oil it really helped."
One fan added: "Nooo no extensions this will thin it more. Wear your hair down more, no tight hair bands. Change your shampoo and routines. Silk pillow cases. Change your parting regularly. I’m going through the same."
Perimenopause has many symptoms, including irregular periods, changes to your mood, brain fog, hot flushes, difficulty sleeping, palpitations, and migraines that are worse than usual, muscle aches, weight changes, skin changes, reduced sex drive and more.
Vaginal dryness and pain, itching or discomfort during sex, UTIs and sensitive teeth are also symptoms of both perimenopause and menopause.
