Hollywood legend has , just a week after sharing his final social media post. The Batman and Top Gun star, his daughter confirmed.
It followed a battle with cancer, which the star is said to have fully recovered from. While he had taken a step back from his acting career in recent years, the star was still active on social media. Just a week ago, he had shared his artwork with his fans. He revealed it was available to purchase from his site.
Taking to , he uploaded the painting of a fire and captioned it: "It’s got that late-night glow. Cool tones with a low burn, like when the camp fire cools down but you’re still wide awake. 12” x 20” plexi-glazed, signed, and ready to hang."

He had earlier shared footage of himself in a padded room with artist/musician David Choe. The footage was originally filmed in 2021, before Val shared it just over a month ago.
Val's throat cancer battle saw him undergo chemotherapy, radiation and surgery before being declared cancer-free in 2021. However, it forced him to step back from the Hollywood spotlight.
In the clip, Val's damaged vocal cords could be heard as he spoke briefly before trying on a custom Batman mask. He said: "I'm ready. It's been a while," while Choe laughed and told him he looked great.
After he put the mask on, he stared at the camera. The actor then turned to face a colourful Batman portrait.
Along with the video, Kilmer also shared a number of portraits produced by Choe's, who can be heard talking about his love for the superhero.
Fans flocked to the comments section of the post with messages of condolence after the news of his death broke. "Forever my Batman rest in peace," one fan wrote alongside a crying face emoji.
Another wrote: "Absolutely [broken heart emoji]," alongside more crying and heartbroken emojis. "Top Gun is one of my favourite films and Val as Iceman was iconic. Rest in peace Val."
Val was best known for his iconic role as Iceman in the 1986 hit movie , while also appearing as Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever (1995).
The star also famously played musician Jim Morrison in the 1991 film The Doors. His success led to his own documentary entitled Val on Amazon Prime, in which Kilmer spoke candidly about his career and cancer journey.
Val leaves behind his two kids; Jack and , also both actors. He had worked alongside his daughter in Paydirt in his final acting years.
