Mahabharat: Why did Shri Krishna marry Arjun's son, you will be surprised to know the reason

There are many characters in the Mahabharata about whom you may not know and their life is also like a puzzle. We are going to tell you about one such character. We are talking about Iravan, who was the son of Arjun and his wife Ulupi.

Iravan was born as a man but due to a curse, he became a eunuch. According to Mahabharata, Lord Krishna advised the Pandavas to worship Goddess Kali for victory during the war.

Then all the Pandavas got ready by making a kund for the worship of Maa Kali. They needed a sacrifice but no one came forward. Then Iravan decided to sacrifice his life in front of Maa Kali and all the Pandavas agreed.

However, Iravan had put a condition that he wanted to get married before he died. The Pandavas were shocked to hear this condition because which father would be ready to get his daughter married when her husband was going to die a day later.

Then Shri Krishna assumed the female form of Mohini and married Iravan. After Iravan's death, Shri Krishna also mourned like a widow the next day.

Due to Iravan's sacrifice, Maa Kali blessed the Pandavas to win the war and also gave Iravan a special blessing. Due to his blessing, Iravan became the god of the eunuchs and since then the tradition of marrying eunuchs for a day also started. Eunuchs consider him their god. Every year they marry Iravan for a day and the next day they mourn his death.
