Pakistan: 13 members of the same family died after drinking milk in Sindh, murder charges

Thirteen members of a family died after consuming poisoned milk in Pakistan's Sindh province. Police said on Friday that the incident took place on August 19 in Haibat Khan Brohi village near Khairpur. The victims have been identified as Gul Beg Brohi, his wife, five sons, three daughters, and three other relatives.

Police said some close relatives had suspected that the victims might have been poisoned as the head of the family had a land dispute with some people.

Poison was found in milk.

Police said that tests conducted by the chemical laboratory in Sakkur revealed that the milk consumed by the family members on the day they died contained a poisonous substance. He said that the report also confirmed the presence of poisonous substances in the bodies of the deceased.

Police engaged in investigation.

Khairpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Samiullah Soomro said that the police are investigating the case from every angle. He said that we will proceed with caution in the case but will ensure that those responsible for the incident are brought to justice.

73 people died in the attack

Let us tell you that in August, at least 73 people were killed in attacks by insurgents on highways, railway bridges, and police stations in Pakistan's troubled province of Balochistan. At the same time, security forces claimed to have killed 21 attackers. Baloch insurgents carried out this attack on the 18th anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti, the respected leader of the Bugti tribe. He was killed by Pakistani security forces in 2006.
