Amit Shah Highlights BJP's Stance Against Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has underscored the stark contrast between the BJP and the Congress-National Conference alliance in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir election. Shah emphasized that while the Congress-NC alliance aims to reinstate Article 370, the BJP is committed to maintaining its removal.

During a rally in Kishtwar, Shah stated that voting for BJP candidate Shugan Parihar represents support for development and a tribute to martyrs, including Parihar's father. He described the election as a battle between the BJP and the Gandhi-Abdullah families, each with distinct agendas.

Shah reaffirmed the BJP's position of "One Constitution, one flag, and one Prime Minister," asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He criticized the Congress and the National Conference for promising to restore Article 370, which, he argued, would undermine current reservations and benefits for local communities.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for removing Article 370, declaring that it has become a historical fact. Shah stressed that there will never be multiple constitutions or flags in India, emphasizing that the national tricolor remains the sole flag.

Shah accused the NC and Congress of fostering terrorism, referencing the 1990s when he claimed their governance allowed terrorism to thrive. He criticized former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah for his past actions and questioned his commitment to the region.

Shah warned that if the Congress-NC alliance returns to power, the region could face a resurgence of violence, with impacts on local peace, economic progress, and religious activities. He noted that the Congress had previously labeled the Abdullah family as traitors but now appears to align with them politically.

In closing, Shah praised Modi for advancing democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with the previous leadership’s failures. He recalled the BJP's historic struggle against the concept of dual constitutions and flags under past Congress rule, underscoring Modi's success in unifying the country under one banner.
