First step in film industry:  Tanuja started her acting career at the age of only 7 years with her mother's home production film "Hamari Beti". Her sister Nutan was also a famous actress. With time, Tanuja caught everyone's attention with her beauty and bindaas nature. People could not take their eyes off her after seeing her once.

Working with superstars:  Tanuja worked with many big stars, such as Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, and Dev Anand. Her memorable films include "Chaand Aur Sooraj," "Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi," "Jewel Thief," "Nai Roshni," "Jeene Ki Raah," "Haathi Mere Saathi," "Anubhav," "Mere Jeevan Saathi," and "Do Chor."

Dharmendra's slap:  Dharmendra had once introduced Tanuja to his wife and children. After some time, he started flirting with Tanuja. Seeing this, Tanuja got angry and slapped Dharmendra. She said, "You should be ashamed, you are married and also the father of two children." After this, Dharmendra apologized and Tanuja tied a Rakhi to him.

Marriage and Family:  In 1973, Tanuja married director-producer Shomu Mukherjee, after a year-long affair. The couple has two daughters: Kajol and Tanisha.
