A new suspenseful thriller included on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited plan is making waves online, with fans praising it as "harrowing and graphic".

From the number 1 Sunday Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter, After That Night is the 11th instalment of the The Will Trent Series.

It follows medical examiner Sara Linton's life is thrown into turmoil when a brutal attack on a young woman, Dani Cooper, eerily resembles the assault she suffered fifteen years prior.

Sara, now engaged and working to rebuild her life, is compelled to revisit her past trauma as GBI Special Agent Will Trent investigates Dani's case.

The investigation reveals a connection between the two attacks, forcing Sara to confront her own demons and the lingering shadows of that fateful night.

The novel explores the themes of healing, forgiveness, and justice as Sara and Will work together to bring the perpetrator to justice.

It is currently rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on Kindle, with reviewers commenting on its grip on readers. One wrote: "As you read After That Night your heart is in your mouth, or at least mine was, it's heartbreaking".

"Without being overtly graphic Slaughter uses conversation, amongst other things, to put across what happens and then adds the thrill and tension from action to keep this a really compelling read", they added.

Another reader wrote: "Another great story with Will Trent and Sarah Lineton, thrilling, with twists & turns. Slaughter really knows how to bring characters to life, kept me guessing & didn't want the book to end".

Another longtime fan of the author said they'd been waiting for the book's release: "As a massive KS fan, I was really excited when it was announced we had another Will and Sara to sink our teeth into. We've been waiting a long time!"

"Overall, a fantastic read and I can't wait for instalment no. 12!", they added.

The Will Trent series has been adapted into an American police procedural television series starring Ramón Rodríguez. It has been renewed for its fourth season in 2025.
