Arsenal have secured the future of five key members of Mikel Arteta's backroom staff, who have all agreed to new contracts at the Emirates. Despite Arteta signing a new deal in September, his coaching team faced some uncertainty with theirs expiring this summer.

Since taking over as manager in December 2019, Arteta has assembled a trusted team of coaches including assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Carlos Cuesta, first-team coach Miguel Molina, goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana and set-piece specialist Nicolas Jover.

Arteta himself signed an extension last year, ensuring his stay at the Emirates until summer 2027. However, his backroom staff did not sign their contract extensions simultaneously.

This group guided Arsenal to the 2020 FA Cup and two consecutive second-place finishes in the Premier League. They are also on track to finish second in the top-flight this season.

Moreover, they have a strong chance of reaching the Champions League semi-finals after defeating Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final clash. Ahead of Saturday's match with Brentford, the Gunners have received a further boost.

As reported by the , all five of Arteta's key staff have now put pen to paper on new deals. Their contracts were due to expire at the end of the season, but it is understood they have signed extensions aligning with the length of Arteta's deal.

Arteta had dropped a hint in December that his backroom staff at Arsenal were in line for new contracts, with the club initially aiming to tie them down last September. Speaking on the matter, Arteta revealed: "We all tried to do it at the same time.

"It is difficult because four or five people committing at the same time is not easy to do. I am so happy with them and I value them at the highest level. I want to continue together so hopefully it will be resolved very soon."

Arteta's coaching team, including Stuivenberg who steps up when Arteta is suspended, and goalkeeping coach Cana, who joined alongside the manager from Brentford, have been integral to the club's operations.

The summer of 2020 saw the arrival of further support with Cuesta and Molina, followed by set-piece specialist Jover from Manchester City a year later. Arteta, having signed his own extension, expressed his deep connection with the Gunners.

"I feel extremely proud, very excited and am looking forward to what is coming next. I'm proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club," he stated.

"I feel extremely lucky to work every single day with good people and the ambition we have here. I feel very inspired, I feel challenged, I feel supported and I want to do much more than what we've already done together.

"Together with the players and everyone at the club, we are looking forward to the coming years, with our supporters, who have emotionally transformed the club and the team. We look forward to continuing the journey together."
