
Chris Brown has been denied bail and been remanded into custody, after being charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. The singer appeared at Manchester Magistrate's court today where the judge shared that the case was "too serious" and would be moved to crown court, with a new hearing listed for June 13.
The charge relates to an incident that happened in back in 2023. The released a statement just hours ago confirming that Brown was still in custody after his arrest in the early hours of Thursday. The statement read: "A man has been charged following an investigation by detectives in the Metropolitan Police Service.
"Chris Brown, 36 (05.05.89), who is a , was charged on Thursday, 15 May with grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court at 10:00hrs on Friday, 16 May. The charge relates to an assault, which reportedly took place at a venue in Hanover Square in London, on Sunday, 19 February 2023."
He was initially arrested not long after landing at on Thursday, at about 2am. Police detectives attended the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, where he had been staying to make the arrest.
