Conor McGregor has found himself at the centre of yet another controversy after US rapper Azealia Banks claimed he sent her explicit images - and then threatened her not to tell anyone. The outspoken musician, 34, shared a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (July 14) accusing the UFC star of harassment and leaking what she alleged were unedited nudes of the fighter.
According to Azealia, the Irish fighter sent her unsolicited mirror selfies while completely naked, with the American star calling out the behaviour as harassing and demanding accountability. She wrote: "How you gonna send a b***h a some crooked d**k pics then threaten her not to tell. @TheNotoriousMMA n***a do you know who the f**k I am?" She went on to add: "Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d**k then threaten me not to tell????"
Express.co.uk have contacted Conor McGregor and Azealia Banks' representatives for comment.
The 212 rapper, who has become as well known for her social media spats as her music, didn't stop there - sarcastically mocking Conor, 37, by telling him he's not the president of Ireland and suggesting he should start using sunscreen.
She later updated followers saying he had woken up early and deleted the images, but not before she was able to screenshot them in a now deleted post.
She later tweeted: "No me and Conor McGregor have been sending each other unsolicited nudes since 2016. LOL."(sic) One message allegedly from the married father-of-four remained, in which he reportedly told her: "Don't be a rat 'cos all rats get caught."
Her post went viral, racking up over a million views, 3,000 retweets and 13,000 likes - but not everyone was convinced.
While the Harlem-born star claimed the images were real and sent from the cage fighter's verified account, some social media users questioned their authenticity, suggesting the photos may have been doctored.
Others tagged Grok, Elon Musk's AI assistant, asking whether the picturees were legit - though the bot has yet to respond.
Others expressed concern for Conor's family, questioning how his wife and children would respond if the allegations were true.
Despite the furore, the mixed martial arts giant has yet to respond publicly or issue a statement. The alleged messages appear to have originated from his verified handle @TheNotoriousMMA.
The scandal is just the latest in a string of legal dramas for the former UFC champion, who has faced allegations and was recently ordered to pay £173,734 in a civil case in Ireland linked to sexual assault claims - a ruling that further complicates his attempts to return to the sport.
Speaking recently, UFC President Dana White said: "He's not fighting any time soon. I haven't talked to him in a minute. I don't know."
