viewers are speculating that a cherished Dingle character might be facing a shocking exit.

Moira Dingle, portrayed by Natalie J.Robb, first graced the iconic Dales in 2009 and has since won over the hearts of viewers, earning numerous awards along the way. Moira's journey on the soap opera has been filled with highs and lows, including marrying into the Dingle family, dealing with her daughter's drug overdose, and navigating through numerous passionate affairs.

Recently, Moira received the life-altering diagnosis of a brain tumour after exhibiting unusual behaviour and experiencing seizures. This news shattered the Dingles, but they were dealt another blow when Zak Dingle, played by Steve Halliwell, passed away in Scotland.

Zak's body was returned to Scotland by Cain (Jeff Hordley), and his funeral was held last week. Regrettably, Moira declined an appointment for her tumour removal surgery as it coincided with Zak's funeral.

In the coming week, emotions will run high as Cain confesses his fear of confronting the possibility of Moira's death. Moira later decides to visit her son Adam (Adam Thomas), leading to a poignant realisation for both her and Cain that they may soon have to bid her farewell, reports .

Emmerdale aficionados have been left biting their nails over the potential demise of popular character Moira Dingle, with speculation rife on social media platforms.

Within an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, a distressed fan posed the question: "Are they really going to kill off Moira? " Their apprehensions opened the floodgates for others to weigh in.

One wrote: "I have a feeling they will, there's not been a huge on-screen death for a while." Echoing the sentiment, another replied: "That is 'true' at least not since Heath or Rishi but she can't die, she's brilliant."

Deliberations continued as one commented: "Can't do that Cain would not recover but never say never in soap land." Another concerned viewer added: "Hope not I'll stop watching if this happens."

In the midst of such fervent discussion, Natalie J Robb, who brings Moira to life, opened up about her latest plotline involving a tumour.

Expressing appreciation for the narrative, Robb stated: "I feel really fortunate to be trusted with such a challenging storyline. Moira and her family have an extremely challenging time ahead, and I'm hoping I can portray it in a truthful way that does justice to all the people who are really suffering with a brain tumour."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
