viewers who have been following John Sugden will know full well that he has established himself as a hard-working and helpful member of the community, but is hiding a huge secret from his neighbours.
Working at a job at the surgery, he was hailed as a hero when he assisted in saving people during the barn fire last year, with no one yet discovering he was the one who killed Nate Robinson. Played by Oliver Farnworth, he has recently found romance with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and has been trying to reconnect with his estranged sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
But John isn't aware that some characters are starting to turn on him and his ex-fiancé Aidan Moore is discovered to be waking up from a coma. Next week, the soap has teased that John's feud with Mackenzie will turn dangerous, with John's next victim seemingly "confirmed" in a brutal twist.

The soap stated, "John secretly enjoys the attention for his upcoming heroism award, but prioritises Aaron who has a mental health crisis resulting in John missing the event.
"Kindly, Vic and Tracy, hold a celebration in honour of John's heroism in the Woolpack to make up for the fact that he missed the real award ceremony. But Mackenzie is annoyed to have missed out and jealous of John and Aaron's relationship. As Mack begins to plot, Matty is amused to see his rivalry.
"As the stags gather for the stag do, everyone is in high-spirits ahead of the paintballing, Mack's left uneasy by a chilling warning from John. As battle commences in the woods, Mack's determined to do his best to thwart John. Soon John's distracted to watch Mack sneaking off and heads off in pursuit of his prey. Could Mackenzie's plan backfire? And is John aware of Mack's dislike of him?"
Is Mack set to become John's next victim?
In similar news, Emmerdale fans are positive they have worked out the in an explosive twist following John Sugden's huge lie.
After appearing at the village and getting engaged to Aaron Dingle, John's sister Victoria has stumbled upon army dog tags inscribed with 'Aidan Moore'. John then explained that Aidan was his close friend in Afghanistan, recounting a tragic tale where he died following a bomb explosion at their military base.
But John has been weaving lies all along, with Aidan actually still being alive and in a coma in the hospital. Fans of the long-running soap are now theorising that there's much more to unwrap about Aidan's character, but it looks like they will have to wait and see.
