Prince Harry made a brand new appearance in London on Monday evening and royal fans had one thing to say. The Duke of Sussex returned to his home country this week for a four-day visit, which will consist of various engagements linked to his charities and patronages.

On Monday, he attended the WellChild awards in London after commemorating the third anniversary of his grandmother's death, Queen Elizabeth II, by laying flowers at her resting place at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. In the evening, Harry looked happy as he beamed and waved on his way to the awards, which were held at Royal Lancaster Hotel in the capital.

The Duke, who has been patron of WellChild for 17 years, looked dapper in a navy suit, crisp white shirt, and patterned navy tie.

Royal fans were delighted to see the Duke looking happy on his first day back in the UK, and took to social media to share their views.

One user wrote on Instagram: "He looks very happy and content because he has a beautiful loving wife and family that supports him."

A second one agreed: "Absolutely true. It shows on his face and he has so much EMPATHY LIKE HIS MUM."

A third one commented: "He's always smiling when doing Royal Duty and when he is HOME."

A fourth one said: "Prince Harry is looking so relaxed and handsome. He is a mixture of both parents he still remains The People's Prince. He is back on home soil doing what he does best making children and their parents feel at ease."

A fifth one added: "Damn, Harry is one handsome man, you can see peace and joy radiating from him."

A sixth one agreed, saying: "He still is a Prince of Charming!"

During the awards ceremony, Harry paid tribute to the seriously ill children and young people recognised by the charity WellChild as a "beacon of hope and inspiration".

The glittering awards ceremony recognises their efforts to succeed and thrive despite life-threatening conditions.

Ahead of the awards, celebrating their 20th anniversary, the duke met the recipients in the central London hotel hosting the event and spoke about the "challenging" relationship between siblings.

The duke told the winners during the presentation ceremony "this is your moment".

He added: "While we reflect on 20 years of these awards, the truth is that you are the story. You are the reason we gather here. Each of you is a beacon of hope and inspiration, not just to those in this room, but to the nation. Keep fighting. Keep smiling. And above all, keep showing us what strength, courage and joy really look like."
