Just over a week after McLaren vowed to prioritise Norris over Oscar Piastri, the 24-year-old justified the show of faith with a commanding display in the southeast Asian heat, forcing Verstappen to settle for second at Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Piastri came home in third, with Mercedes duo George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finishing fourth and sixth respectively after struggling with the immense heat.
