Gardener shares ultimate technique to have 'continuous flow of spring flowers'

Send Push

The more spring bulbs we plant over the coming months the more spring flowers we will enjoy.

The planting technique I use gives a continuous flow of spring flowers.

The bulb lasagne planting technique is a superb way to create a consistent springtime flower display in your pots, beds and borders.

The aim is to have flowers from March to May, based on what bulbs we select to plant in.

If you get yourself a supply of bulbs and check the month of flowering and some quality peat free compost you can do this simple planting technique.

So how does it work? So for example if you plant Alliums bulbs at the base of a pot, add a quilt of compost, then plant Daffodil bulbs, add a quilt of compost, then plant Hyacinth bulbs and then cover those to the top of your pot then you have a bulb lasagne.

These three layers of bulbs will give you lovely flowers from March to May.

You can use the same planting technique in your beds and borders to create a continuous flow of spring flowers across your garden.

The more pots, containers, planters, beds and borders that contain spring bulbs the better, so the planning and planting starts now.
