Hollywood stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have revealed they developed a real-life "mother and daughter" closeness after appearing together 22 years ago in the film Freaky Friday. The actresses have reunited on screen in long-awaited comedy sequel Freakier Friday, in cinemas from Friday.
They reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman, who famously switched bodies after eating magical Chinese fortune cookies. Jamie Lee, 66, and Lindsay, 39, say they formed an "almost family" bond, with the former saying: "I know I can trust her and I can't say that about a lot of people. We've both been through hard times but we connected and we stayed connected and that is special and rare for me."
Lindsay, who was 15 when she met Jamie Lee and now has a child of her own - two-year-old son Luai - with financier husband Bader Shammas, added: "She was with me at a time in my life when I was going through a lot, publicly. She was privately really there for me and the mother-daughter vibes remain.
"I feel very safe with her. So if she wants to go on and do Freakiest Friday in another 20 years, I'm in."
