We've all had that awkward moment of accidentally hitting someone's car with your door while trying to squeeze out of a tight parking space.

But one woman has now been called a "genius" after sharing a trick that means you'll never have to face that embarrassment again.

In a video that has received over 15,000 likes, explains how her simple, cheap hack works. She said: "If you're ever parked too close to a car next to you, you need this hack in your life."

The Australian went on to explain that she had parked close to a stranger's car and was going to struggle to get her child out without hitting the vehicle next to her. So, she took out a nappy and carefully placed it between her car door and the other vehicle.

She added: "When I want to get my baby out of the car, I use a nappy. The door doesn't scratch the car next to you, and their car doesn't leave paint on yours. Now I can get him out."

A pack of nappies from costs about £11 for a box of 80, meaning the one nappy needed for the trick costs just 14p. But if you don't have nappies, Kelly says you can use something else.

"I use a nappy, you can use a sock," she said. However, users had mixed feelings about the tip and quickly shared their thoughts in the comments.

One user said: "I usually use my hand and my husband gets him, but this is less painful." Another added: "That's so smart, never thought of that."

Meanwhile, a third commented: "Can you tell everyone in my town this hack please, my car is full of door scratches." But a fourth disagreed: "Or just park properly using your mirrors."
