Meat Loaf was warned by a friend that he would have a heart attack before his death. The died aged 74 back in 2022, after being known across the world for his powerful voice and theatrical live shows.
Opening up on life before death, his friend and fellow musician, ABC's Martin Fry, shared that he was once roped in to calming the rockstar down in a hotel room. Appearing on ITV's , chatting to hosts and Rob Rinder, he shared: "He's passed away now Meat Loaf, but he was a wonderful, wonderful performer. Larger than life, on stage and off.
"But he was too old to trash his hotel room, so he trashed it because somebody recorded the show, and I was the only guy that went into the room to try and calm him down. I said to him, 'You're too big. You're going to have a heart attack, mate.' However, that was quite some time ago."
Meat Loaf died in Tennessee on January 20, 2022. While no official cause of death was released, the legendary singer was reportedly ill with -19 earlier in the month. He also had a long history of asthma attacks.
At the time, his family released a statement, which said: "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. From his heart to your souls ... don't ever stop rocking!"
Meat Loaf's best-known album, the bombastic Bat Out Of Hell, remains one of the best-selling releases of all time. The star sold 100 million albums worldwide in total and also appeared in movies like Fight Club, the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne's World.
The rockstar's hits included Paradise by the Dashboard Light, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, and I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That).
