Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland has made an eagerly awaited career announcement

The Scouse comedian has captured the hearts of BBC viewers with his performances in the star-studded contest.

On Saturday, the 47-year-old breezed through to Movie Week with his delightful Foxtrot to, Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy alongside professional partner, Dianne Buswell.

Chris is the show's first-ever blind contestant and some fans are convinced he will go all the way to lift the Glitterball.

Following his success in week two, Chris took to Instagram to share an exciting update as he is set to hit the road again on tour when his Strictly journey concludes.

He had been touring his show, Yonks, throughout this year but has added a whole host of new dates for 2025.

An announcement on his Instagram page read: "Loads more dates just announced."

Yonks had finished touring for 2024 but he will return to the stage with the show in Blackpool on January 18.

Chris is set to delight fans in his hometown of Liverpool with two shows at the Philharmonic Hall on January 31 and February 1, before wrapping up his tour in Crawley on June 14.

During Strictly Come Dancing, Tom Dean was the first celebrity to be voted off this weekend.

Despite Chris's joy at staying in the competition, his dance partner Dianne admitted he was not in the mood for celebration after Tom's departure.

She expressed gratitude to their supporters: "Thank you so much for voting for us and for all you kind comments. We are thrilled to be dancing another week!

"However, Chris could not get his head around why we would celebrate going through when somebody had to leave. Lots of love to Tom and Nadia [Bychkova]."
