The Assassin star Keeley Hawes is already receiving praise for her role as Julie in the new six-part thriller on Prime Video. She stars opposite The Good Doctor's Freddie Highmore, who plays her son in the high-stakes action drama.
Keeley is one of the most high-profile British actresses working on television today, having appeared in huge hit shows like Ashes to Ashes, Line of Duty, Bodyguard, The Durrells and It's A Sin. She has also most recently appeared in BBC period drama Miss Austen and Netflix's Scoop.
However, fans might not realise that Keeley also has an equally famous husband, who has enjoyed some truly iconic roles across both film and television.
Keeley Hawes is married to fellow actor Matthew MacFadyen, with the pair tying the knot in 2004.
The power couple share two children, Maggie and Ralph, and also co-parent Keeley's son Myles from her first marriage.
Matthew is best known for his role as Tom Wambsgans in HBO's Succession and Mr Darcy in 2005 film Pride and Prejudice, where he starred opposite Keira Knightley.
His other credits include Marvel film Deadpool and Wolverine, 2021 film Operation Mincemeat and television series Ripper Street.
Keeley and Matthew also recently starred together in ITV's Stonehouse, a drama based on the true story of a British politician who faked his own death.

Keeley Hawes and Matthew MacFadyen were first introduced in 2002 when they were both cast in the popular BBC spy drama, Spooks.
Matthew starred in 19 episodes as Tom Quinn, while Keeley appeared in 22 episodes as Zoe Reynolds.
At the time, Keeley was married to cartoonist Spencer McCallum, whom she divorced in 2004 several months before wedding her co-star Matthew.
While she has maintained that her relationship with Matthew didn't start until after she had ended things with Spencer, Keeley has since admitted that they did fall in love on set.
In a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed: "Matthew just came straight out with it and said 'I love you' in the rain one day. I thought, 'Oh dear, here we go.'"
Since Keeley remarried, she and ex-husband Spencer have remained on good terms and continue to co-parent their adult son Myles.

The official IMDb synopsis for The Assassin reads: "A retired assassin reunites with her estranged son, but her dangerous past catches up with them, forcing them to go on the run together while uncovering a dark conspiracy that threatens their relationship."
Prime Video has also given a longer description, which reads: "Set against the idyllic backdrop of a remote Greek island, the images see retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore) as they are forced to work together in a fight for survival.
"Amid questions around Edward's paternity and Julie's dangerous past catching up with her, the pair are forced to flee the island and go on the run together."
The Assassin is available for Amazon Prime members to stream now on Prime Video.
