A charming village nestled above a valley in Croatia looks so similar to a famous city in the UK that it has been used as a dupe in a blockbuster film. Located almost an hour away from the city of Pula lies Završje.

The medieval village is a perfect blend of historical depth, natural splendour, and cinematic charm. The village stands on the remnants of an ancient hill fort and traces its recorded history back to the 11th century. Throughout the ages, it has been governed by a succession of powers, including the Counts of Gorizia, the Habsburg dynasty, and the noble Contarini family.

Završje may be more familiar to many than expected-it featured in a major film back in 2018. The village doubled as 12th-century Nottingham in the Robin Hood movie starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, and Eve Hewson, reports The Sun.

Its authentic medieval charm made it the perfect setting for several key scenes, including the climactic showdown between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

According to its official website, Završje was even named the second-best European film location, thanks to its atmospheric streets and timeless architecture.

According to the reports, the village is home to just 39 people, as revealed in the last population census in 2021.

What truly sets Završje apart is its dramatic location-perched on a cliff with sweeping views of the valley and the nearby town of Motovun, which appears to float on a hill across the river.

The region is steeped in legends of old trade routes, fortified buildings, and the enchanting Motovun forest.

The village houses a 22 metres tall church tower that leans about 40 cm as it was built on an unstable ground.
