Vacuuming is one of those persistent tasks, and if you have a pet and small children, sweeping the floor might be a daily chore at home. Cordless stick vacuums are fast and compatible with different home types while robot vacuums offer complete hands-free experience, but to me the former ticks more boxes.
I own a and have been using it for three years. It's a space-saving device that sweeps my place in under an hour. It comes with a self-emptying station and mops and can be paired with an app to 'map out' the entire place and schedule for regular cleaning routines.
However, the routines take longer than I would like and the suction is not as strong as traditional vacuums. I've encountered several issues and that's when I decided to invest in a cordless stick vacuum. Amazon is doing an offer on the and has reduced the price from £249.99 to £199.99.
There are several brands on Amazon offering this week, including this which is reduced from £199.99 to £129.99. Leading brand Dyson also drops the price of the from £499.99 to £359.99. The powerful motor spins at up to 125,000rpm with a cleaner head with polycarbonate hair removal to lift and spiral hair straight into the bin.
The Levoit vacuum comes with a few attachments including a crevice tool with mini brush, a mini motorised brush for cleaning bedding and sofas and an air-purifying filter to trap allergens and pollen. The main vacuum head is an anti-hair warp brush with smooth suction to pick up hair without tangling.
I was most excited to use the crevice tool to pick up the dust in tight spaces where my robot vacuum couldn't reach, and it's a joy to use it. The mini brush is best to clean delicate surfaces like fabric covers and glass tabletops, but to hold it up to clean the coving ceiling requires a good lift to keep the vacuum in position without blowing air in my face. The motorhead is heavier than I expected, and it couldn't stand up on its own unless mounted on the wall.
The clear dust container with a maximum load marking makes it easier for me to know when to empty the basket, while the robot vacuum dust bag is often half-full when the "empty" sign flashes.
I am not a pet owner but I get frustrated when I find my hair curling up in balls on the carpet, the Levoit anti-hair wrap technology left me impressed. Having spent 30 minutes sweeping my entire house and I was ready to get my hands dirty to clear all the loose strands on the strips but I was wrong, there's and they all went through to the dust container.
This made my cleaning task much more enjoyable. A full charge should give me 60 minutes of use but with power boost, the battery drops down to 20% by the time I finish - meaning I have to charge every time after use. Echoing to what other customers say, I wish it comes with an extra pack of battery as spare so I can swap between them.
The Levoit vacuum also comes with an extendable stick, and it can be attached to any of the brush tools, which saves me from having lower back pain. Compared to a robot vacuum, the Levoit Cordless Vacuum is much more powerful, and it does not require any app to operate the device. Since then, my robot vacuum has been sitting in the corner.
