How did we find out the truth?: We used the location mentioned in the video — Kaliganj, Gazipur — as keywords in Bangla (কালীগঞ্জ গাজীপুর) to look for news reports related to the violence.
This took us to an article by Bangladeshi news organisation , which mentioned an axe attack and a family dispute over land among cousins.

The report mentioned that the fight took place on 30 March 2025, when one Ramcharan and his son Jhantu Das attacked their cousins with axes "due to a previous enmity over land" in Kaliganj.
Their cousins were identified as Narayan, Giribala, and Haradhan Chandra Das.
To look for more details, we looked for information shared by the regional police.
During this, we came across a by Bangladesh Police on Facebook which provided details about the people involved, adding that both parties were taken to Dhaka Pongu Hospital and Dhaka Medical College for medical attention.
The post added that the incident was being given a communal angle, which was promoting false information.
To verify the religious identities of those involved, we reached out to fact-checkers from Bangladesh-based fact-checking organisation Rumor Scanner's Tanvir Mahatab Abir, who shared a post by another fact-checker from the same organisation.
Addressing the viral claim, fact-checker Shohanur Rehman also said that the fight was among family members.
"It's a land-related family conflict, where it happened among cousins. Both parties are Hindu religion. The issue can be known from the media report and the Facebook post of Bangladesh Police," read.
