New Delhi: The city police has arrested a person in connection with selling fake concert tickets of famous singers in the national capital. DCP South District held a press conference on Tuesday giving details about the accused and how he operated his nexus to sell fake concert tickets.Police said the accused had made a fake online payment link to dupe people. The case was probed by cyber police who nabbed B.Tech dropout, Kaushik Raj.
How Did The Nexus Operate?According to police, Kaushik Raj was selling fake tickets to a popular singer's concert. The arrest followed a complaint that exposed a scam worth nearly ₹4.76 lakh. According to the complaint, a resident of Neb Sarai, Delhi, was duped while attempting to purchase tickets for the event. Kaushik Raj allegedly sent fake complimentary tickets to gain the complainant’s trust, leading him to buy 69 more tickets for friends and family.Fake concert tickets seller
However, upon verifying the tickets with the concert's official platform, they were found to be invalid. How Cops Busted RajThe Cyber Police initiated an investigation and tracked the bank transactions utilising technical surveillance to locate the suspect. He was eventually apprehended at Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi. The cops seized two mobile phones, including an iPhone worth ₹1.35 lakh, an Apple Watch valued at ₹50,000, and five debit cards from the accused.Kaushik Raj confessed to defrauding several individuals from Delhi, Chandigarh and West Bengal, amassing a total of ₹6.75 lakh.
