Delhi Gym Owner Murder: Lookout Notice Against Kunal Chhabra, Man Being Probed By FBI As Well

New Delhi: In a fresh development in the murder case of Nadir Shah, the probe so far has revealed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi wanted to threaten and extort crores from Dubai-based businessman Kunal Chhabra. To threaten him, Bishnoi gang members, through Hashim Baba, killed Nadir Shah in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi a few days back.Sources told Times Now that Bishnoi had made calls to Chhabra and tried to extort Rs 10 crores from him. Kunal was a close associate of Nadir Shah and a multi-crore transaction reportedly took place between the two and it allegedly irked Bishnoi. Now, Delhi police has issued summons and asked him to join the investigation. Kunal Chhabra has been under the scanner of not only the Delhi Police but the US probe agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as well, sours said.ALSO READ | Chilling Visuals When Nadir Shah Was KilledIn March, the FBI approached the law enforcement agencies in India asking them to investigate Kunal Chhabra who has several business interests including call centres. FBI suspected that US citizens were being duped in several "tech fraud" cases. Reportedly, Kunal Chhabra runs call centres and the cyber cell had raided such illegal call centre and arrested 12 suspects.Delhi Police has registered four cases against Chhabra of which, three have been registered against him by the special cell. A lookout circular and two non-bailable warrants have also been issued against him. Delhi Police has also written to the Enforcement Directorate asking them to initiate money laundering investigations (PMLA) against Chhabra.Meanwhile, the cops may seek court permission to visit Gujarat jail to question Bishnoi in the case as he cannot be moved from there as the government has invoked Section 268 (1) of Code of Criminal Procedure in his case to exclude him from productions to maintain law and order.Delhi Police Special Cell recently arrested two purported henchmen of gangster Hashim Baba after an encounter near Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Hashim Baba is the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Afghan-origin gym operator Nadir Shah. The men, identified as Anas and Asad, were reportedly also wanted for a brazen shooting incident inside GTB Hospital last month."The joint team pursued the individuals along the Delhi-Haridwar highway and intercepted a Kia Seltos near Bhainsi village in UP at 4 am," an officer said, quoted TOI. Police said the duo opened fire on the police team. "Police retaliated, and in the ensuing exchange of gunfire, both suspects sustained bullet injuries to their legs," the officer added.
