Mercedes-AMG G 63 Facelift Goes On Sale In India

Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of the new AMG G 63 in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom). With the launch of the new facelift, the car gets a range of subtle enhancements over its predecessor, such as design refinements, newer technology, and a more potent powertrain in the form of a 48V mild-hybrid system integrated into its potent 4.0-liter V8 engine. In terms of exteriors, the changes on the new cars are subtle but significant. The front bumper now sports vertical slats, on the other hand, the radiator grille features a dark chrome finish. The A-pillars now come slightly rounded off to improve aerodynamics and bring down the noise levels. Additionally, a new lip on the windscreen further enhances aerodynamics of the new SUV. At the rear, an optional carbon fiber spare wheel cover introduces a touch of sportiness.Also Read: Inside, the G 63 gets a luxurious cabin with a range of new features. The highlight inside the car is the MBUX infotainment system which now includes two 12.3-inch screens for the driver's display as well as instrumentation. What makes the matter more interesting is that the infotainment system is now touch-sensitive, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To further improve cabin experience, the car gets a premium 18-speaker Burmester sound system and a new three-spoke AMG performance steering wheel.

The off-road control center has been redesigned for easier access to key functions. Other notable additions include temperature-controlled cup holders and a wireless mobile charger. Moreover, the AMG G 63 offers an extensive range of customization options, with 31 unique MANUFAKTUR upholstery choices and 29 MANUFAKTUR paint finishes.Under the hood, the AMG G 63 now features a 48V mild-hybrid system integrated into its potent 4.0-liter V8 engine. While the engine still produces 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, the mild-hybrid system provides an additional 22 horsepower boost. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.The optional AMG Active Ride Control hydraulic suspension system, previously seen in the AMG SL 63, is now available on the G 63, further enhancing its on-road dynamics and off-road capabilities. This system, standard on the AMG Performance package, allows the G 63 to reach a top speed of up to 240 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.Despite these performance upgrades, the G 63 retains its legendary off-road prowess, with impressive ground clearance, water wading depth, approach and departure angles. The addition of optional 22-inch alloy wheels with a center-locking mechanism further underscores its rugged character.Mercedes-Benz India has already received significant interest in the facelifted G 63, with the first batch of 120 units already allocated. Customers who reserve their G 63 now can expect deliveries to commence in the third quarter of 2025.
