Pune: A police constable died while another was critically injured after their motorcycle was struck in a hit-and-run accident in Pune's Bopodi area. The Pune police have initiated a thorough investigation to identify the vehicle and arrest the driver responsible for the incident.According to officials from Khadki Police Station, the deceased constable has been identified as Samadhan Koli, aged 42, while the injured constable is Sanjog Shinde, aged 36, currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The accident occurred around 1:30 am near the Bopodi underpass as the two constables were conducting their routine night patrol.Senior Inspector Girish Dighavkar stated in, "The two constables were on their night patrolling round when their bike was hit by a vehicle near Bopodi underpass. Constable Koli succumbed to his injuries, and Constable Shinde is in critical condition. Police have detained the car owner but are searching for his son and the driver who were present during the accident.
