Should he achieve the feat, he would become the 4th batter after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar to enter this coveted list. Tendulkar tops the all time Test run scoring list with 15921 runs and he is also the highest run scorer among the Indians. Dravid is second on the list while Gavaskar is in third place. Virat hasn’t had the best of time on the field in the red ball cricket for the past couple of years and he will be determined to get back to his best ahead of the Australia Tour. India will be put through a stern Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they are scheduled to be involved in a five match series starting in November. Virat can also notch up 1000 Test runs against New Zealand and would be the third batter after Sachin and Dravid to achieve a rare feat. India have lost consecutive WTC finals to New Zealand and Australia and will aim to better their record if they manage to reach the summit clash this time.
