Prayagraj: This year, the city-based Ramlilas are using latest tech to showcase the episodes. The authorities of Pajawa Ramlila committee have installed an advanced light and sound system to present episodes, such as Sita-Haran, Bali-Sugreev Yudh, the entry of demon queen Surpanakha, and the flying of Pushpak Viman. A team of technical experts is assisting Ramlila authorities to make special scenes more realistic and lively such as generating sparks during fighting of two maces (Bali-Sugreev gada yudh) or Laxman drawing the Laxman Rekha.

The director of Pajawa Ramlila, Sachin Kumar Gupta, told TOI, "We are using the latest technology and advanced light and sound systems to make Ramlila more spectacular and digital, so that viewers could enjoy it. When people watch the 20-foot Lord Hanuman and demon queen Surpanakha are shown flying in different episodes of Ramlila, it creates a more lively and impactful impression on audiences," said Sachin.

The fight between Lord Ram and demon king Ravan will be showcased with the help of laser technology. Over 55 artists are being trained to do justice to their assigned roles. Pajawa Ramlila, which began on Oct 3, will culminate on Oct 10. There are a total of eight light and sound-based episodes for the entire Ramlila, from the birth of Lord Ram to victory over Lanka. Moreover, a special ropeway is being made to help different characters move from one end to another. However, after the introduction of the light and sound system, the majority of Ramlila episodes are being staged more precisely and lively.
