Youth dies, friend injured after his bike hits divider

Kanpur: Raunak Chaurasia, aged 20, died in an accident at Harjinder Nagar intersection while giving his friend a lift. The collision with a divider resulted in Ronak's death and injuries to his companion. The incident took place at 2.30 am on Saturday night. The helmet was discovered at a distance from the crash site. His father, Sanjay Kumar Chaurasia, is an iron trader from Yogendra Vihar, Naubasta, operating an iron factory in Dadanagar.

According to elder sibling Dhirendra, Raunak was employed at their father's factory. On Saturday, the family attended their cousin Anjali's wedding ceremony in Tiwaripur in Jajmau. Around 2.30 am, Raunak was transporting his friend Priyanshu, who resides in Ghau Kheda, on his motorcycle.

The high-speed collision occurred at Harjinder Nagar when the motorcycle struck the divider. Both individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to Kanshiram Hospital in a serious condition where the doctors pronounced Raunak deceased.

According to the police, fatigue may have contributed to the accident. The wedding attendees were shocked upon learning about the tragic incident.

Inspector Chakeri police station Santosh Kumar Shukla said that the accident resulted from the motorcycle hitting the divider. Raunak was wearing a helmet but it was dislodged during the impact, he said.
