Fastest century, youngest ever! 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi creates U-19 history – check all the records

Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a jaw-dropping century off just 52 balls against England U-19, setting a new benchmark in Youth ODI cricket. Playing for the India U-19 team , the young batter showed remarkable composure and fearless strokeplay to reach three figures in record time.

With this explosive knock, Vaibhav has become the youngest Indian to score a Youth ODI century , breaking Sarfaraz Khan’s decade-old record. Sarfaraz had scored a ton at 15 years and 338 days against South Africa U-19 in 2013. Vaibhav’s achievement also makes him the youngest centurion in Youth ODIs globally, surpassing Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto, who made a century at 14 years and 241 days in 2013.

Vaibhav’s blitz also shattered the record for the fastest Youth ODI century ever. Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam previously held this record for his 53-ball hundred against England U-19 in 2013. For India, Raj Angad Bawa’s 69-ball century against Uganda in the 2022 U-19 World Cup was the fastest before Vaibhav’s knock.
