Dalmia Bharat expands Kadapa cement plant capacity to 3.6MTPA

HYDERABAD: Cement player Dalmia Bharat Limited has expanded the capacities at its existing integrated cement manufacturing unit at Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh by an additional 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company on Thursday said it had commenced commercial production of the additional capacity.

The strategic expansion , which was taken up at an investment of Rs 207 crore, will take up the total capacity of the integrated cement manufacturing unit at Kadapa to 3.6 MTPA and the company’s total installed capacity to 46.6 MTPA.

The move is aimed at meeting the growing cement demand in the southern markets and enhancing the company’s presence in south India, the company said on Thursday.

Dalmia Bharat also said the expansion aligns with its long-term growth strategy to increase its total installed capacity to 110-130 MTPA by 2031.

Dalmia Bharat Limited managing director & CEO Puneet Dalmia said the additional capacity expansion at Kadapa, along with the recent expansion in Tamil Nadu , reinforces the company’s commitment to support the growing infrastructure needs in the southern region.

“With the expected focus on overall infrastructure capital outlay and its deployment, we see significant growth opportunities ahead, especially in the southern states where we continue to be a major player delivering quality products.”

With manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the company is well positioned to cater to the growing infrastructure requirements of the region enabling it to effectively support new projects in roads, railways, airports and ports contributing significantly to the region's economic growth and development.
