Bollywood actors' love affair with their supercars and superbikes is known. The garage of some of our B-town folks is the envy of many – with exotic and classic cars parked out there with pride. Here are some stars who beyond their fancy collection of four wheels, are proud owners of timeless vintage cars.
Dharmendra
Veteran actor Dharmendra (88) took to social media in October 2021, to share a video of his first car, a green Fiat that is still part of his collection. He had bought the car in 1960 during his phase as a struggler in films. He shared, “I bought it for Rs 18,000 only, which was a great thing in those days. Pray for it, that it should always be with me.”
Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan owns a yellow Ford Prefect. The actor took to social media in March 2020, to reveal the car was gifted by one of his friends. He also revealed that the Ford Prefect was one of his family's first cars. He added that a post about his first car persuaded the friend to gift him the exact same car. He reportedly redesigned, repainted and got the same number plate as the first car.
Jackie Shroff
The actor has been spotted in the 1968 model silver Fiat car, fully restored to its original condition. A yellow-coloured fog lamp in the centre of the grille grabbed attention, which has also been completely restored.
Karan Kundrra
In March 2024, Karan Kundrra had shared how he bought the vintage HM Contessa, during a trip to Kerala. He shared, “Met this beauty in Munnar and instantly fell in love. One of the original Vauxhall’s which we later came to love as the iconic HM Contessa and guess what…I had to have her in my garage and finally she’s here.”
Rajinikanth
The actor’s family posted a picture of his first car – a Premier Padmini parked at his residence, which is still in working condition. In the photo widely shared by fan groups in 2020, the actor is seen smiling from ear to ear, standing beside his white vehicle, dressed in ethnic wear.
