Actor Romiit Raaj is all set to welcome the Bengali New Year. The actor, who was seen as Rohit in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says he plans to spend time with his family this year.
“I’m just chilling in Kolkata and having a great time with my wife Tina. We’ll be going to the Goto Kalighat Temple for Maa Kali's blessings,” he says.
He adds, “We’ll head to 6th Ballygunge Restaurant for some amazing Bengali food and then play golf at RCGC.”
Meanwhile, as he enjoys his break, his fans are missing him on the show. “The show is over, but the love I continue to receive from fans through their messages is overwhelming,” he says, adding that he often gets requests from fans who want to see him return to the show. YRKKH fans want Romiit back as Rohit Poddar’s look-alike and are eager to see more of Ruhi and the Poddar family.
He says, “But right now, I’m loving my quality time with family. The vibe of this city immerses me in joy. Some leisure is surely important. I feel positive about life and career. I’ve started getting calls for new shows too—let’s see what I take up next!”
Recently, in an exclusive conversation with the Times of India, Romiit spoke his exit from Yeh Rishta and about the love he got from the show, "I am completely overwhelmed with the kind of response I’ve got from the entire nation and the viewers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. It’s really heartwarming and I must say that Yeh Rishta will be the most special show of my life. It is the dearest to me. My career has just begun. I’m very glad to be a part of this iconic show."
In the same interview, he thanked producer Rajan Shahi for giving him the opportunity to play, Rohit, "I’m very grateful to Rajan sir for this wonderful opportunity. He showed faith in me. I’m glad that I got an opportunity like this. My mother always wanted me to work with him. I’m very happy. For me Rajan sir is the greatest and u always wanted to work with him. I look forward to working with him again in the future," he shared.
