Actor Preity Zinta made it clear during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on X (formerly Twitter) that she draws a firm line when it comes to her children’s privacy. The Veer-Zaara actor, who is mother to twins Jai and Gia with husband Gene Goodenough, issued a strong message to those attempting to click pictures of her kids without consent: “Taking my kids’ pictures will bring out my Kali avatar. Otherwise, I’m a happy person.”
“Don’t start making videos without my permission”
Joining a growing list of celebrity parents like Anushka Sharma–Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone–Ranveer Singh, Preity has opted to keep her children away from the spotlight. When a fan asked her to share something fans may not know about her, she responded with candour, revealing she dislikes being photographed at temples, airports post-flight, in bathrooms, or during security checks. But it was her strict stance on her twins’ privacy that stood out most.
“Don’t start making videos without my permission – it’s actually very irritating. Just ask me politely & please leave my kids alone,” she added, using folded hands and heart emojis to underline her request.
If I have spammed people’s timelines with this chat then oops!
In a lighthearted wrap-up to the interactive session, Preity wrote, “Thanks everyone for another fun Pzchat! I enjoy these chats more than any interview… If I have spammed people’s timelines with this chat then oops! I did it again.” She also appealed to the media to quote her statements in full, emphasizing that she wasn’t angry or offended by anyone and can “handle all types of comments.”
Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough got married in 2016, and welcomed their twins via surrogacy on November 11, 2021. Earlier this year, Preity had opened up about her decision to keep their faces hidden from the public eye, citing the importance of protecting their privacy until they are old enough to choose for themselves.
