In a late-night scare that has now caught national attention, a lion was found resting on a kitchen wall at a home in Gujarat’s Amreli district. The wild animal had managed to scale a wall nearly 12 to 13 feet high, leaving the family stunned and terrified by the sight.
According to a report by the Times of India , the incident occurred at about 1 am in the Kovaya village of Rajula taluka. At first, the family heard some faint sounds outside and brushed it off as nothing unusual. But when the noises continued, they decided to take a closer look– only to come face-to-face with something they never expected.
The massive creature was quietly sitting on the edge of the high wall, its eyes glowing in the dark as the light hit them. Panicked by the discovery, the family immediately left the house and stayed away until forest officials confirmed that the lion had left the area.
A short clip showing the lion calmly sitting on the high kitchen wall was captured and later shared on social media. The video quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions from across the internet. While some users expressed shock and concern, others were simply amazed by how close the animal had come to a home.

As per reports, the lion is believed to have strayed into the area from a nearby forest, likely in search of food or water. Amreli lies close to Gir forest, which is known as the only natural home of Asiatic lions .
This is not the first time residents in the district have witnessed lions in or near populated areas. According to a report presented by The Hindustan Times, earlier this year, a pride of 14 lions– including lionesses and cubs– was seen crossing a road in the same region. That night-time footage also gained significant attention and raised concern about the increasing presence of wild animals in residential zones.
