In The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion Remastered , Malacath's Daedric quest stands out not only for its brutal combat sequences but also for the moral weight it carries. A champion of the downtrodden, Malacath demands justice for his enslaved ogres, and it’s your role to deliver it with steel and fury. If you're a blunt weapon-wielding warrior, this quest is your ticket to acquiring Volendrung, a powerful warhammer that can paralyze. Here's how you can go about this unforgettable ride of righteous retribution.
How to prepare for the Quest
To get to Malacath's shrine, you need to fulfill two conditions: be level 10 and have a rare ingredient—Troll Fat. Troll Fat may be found on killed trolls (which starts to appear at around level 10) or be bought from alchemist vendors. If a vendor has none, wait outside his/her shop for three in-game days until his/her inventory recharges.
Finding Malacath's Shrine
After presenting the offering, Malacath gives vent to his indignation regarding Lord Drad—a property owner who has had the temerity to enslave ogres in order to extract gold. Malacath sees this as not merely an affront against himself but as a wrong that needs to be righted. Your mission: rescue the ogres from the Bleak Mine close to Lord Drad's Estate, southeast of the shrine.
When you arrive at the estate, you will encounter the haughty Lord Drad unapologetic about his taking advantage of ogres. He will nonchalantly inform you that they are laboring in the Bleak Mine if you indulge his ego. For greater insight, talk to Lady Drad, but after boosting her mood to 70 or more. She verifies the location of the ogres and can show signs of remorse.
The Bleak Mine, northeast of the estate, is your next destination. It has a locked entrance, but there are three possible ways in: break the lock, cast an unlocking spell, or pilfer the Bleak Mine Key from the estate—on the first floor on the table next to the bench.
Inside, you’ll face off against a squad of Bleak Mine Guards, The reward is once you release the ogres, go back to Malacath's shrine.
Malacath's journey through Oblivion Remastered is more than a dungeon crawl, it's a dark story of tyranny, justice, and divine vengeance. Glorious or geared up, this Daedric quest will temper your steel and pay your courage back.
