As the Dallas Mavericks won the 2025 NBA Draft lottery and picked the number 1 overall draft Cooper Flagg, those on social media couldn’t stop calling the lottery rigged, connecting it to Luka Doncic ’s trade a few months ago. While LeBron James shared laughing emojis in reaction to the news, Doncic shared a picture with his child on Instagram, seemingly showing his indifference to the development.

Reddit users react to Luka Doncic’s latest Instagram photo
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Luka Doncic shared a lovely picture of himself walking on the pavement with his daughter sitting on his shoulders. His partner appears to be carrying the pram while walking behind him, as the sun shines in the background.

After Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers , the player has been making the most of his free time by spending quality moments with his family, as the NBA season ended early for the team, which was eliminated in the playoffs. The recent picture made its way to Reddit, and many had their own take on it.

A Reddit user wrote, “Or maybe this IG story is a message to everyone that he is unbothered by the latest news and just focusing on what really matters. He rarely posts his family so this post might be intentional.”

Another commented, “I wonder what’s on his mind after what happened yesterday with the supposedly rigged lottery. This is going to screw with his mind even more. It sucks to think there was a whole mastermind concoction brewing in the background involving you when all you did was put your heart and soul out there on the court every night for your team and you wanted to stay in the city forever. What sucks for him is that he spent years carrying a Mavs team since he was a rookie and never complained but stayed loyal and as soon as they built a team worthy of winning it all, he got dealt and is now back to starting over again.”

A Reddit user also said, “Happy for my guy. Rest up and do what you can to process everything you went through and be ready to ball next year!” Another said, “Hope he has a good off-season, that year was stressful for him.”
