The National Hockey League delivered another week of breathtaking goals as teams made their final push for playoff positioning. Ivan Demidov 's spectacular NHL debut for the Montreal Canadiens and Yegor Sharangovich 's highlight-reel finish for the Calgary Flames stand out among this week's most impressive tallies, demonstrating the exceptional skill on display across the league as the regular season concludes.

Montreal Canadiens rookie Ivan Demidov makes immediate impact with dazzling debut goal

Ivan Demidov, 19, from Sergiyev Posad , Russia, put Montreal Canadiens fans immediately in the mood to expect the best when he showed up. Ivan Demidov's first professional goal was a quick reaction to a fortunate board bounce that saw him step in to beat Arvid Soderblom in the Chicago Blackhawks' net in his first NHL appearance.

He provided an assist before the period started with a great pass to Alex Newhook on a beautiful play at the blue line, which led to the fifth selection for the 2024 NHL Draft. Bell Centre spectators went wild as Ivan Demidov's outstanding playing skills helped the Canadiens end the regular season with one point in their Wednesday match against the Carolina Hurricanes. RDS and SN1, SNE, SNO, and FDSNSO will air the decisive game at 7 p.m. ET on April 16.

Calgary Flames' Yegor Sharangovich delivers a gorgeous mid-air tip-in against Minnesota Wild

Just Friday, Yegor Sharangovich of the Calgary Flames scored one of the season's best goals in a game against the Minnesota Wild. The 26-year-old Belarusian forward started a textbook give-and-go with linemate Martin Pospisil before, using excellent hand-eye coordination, he redirected an aerial pass into the net past Filip Gustavsson.

Yegor Sharangovich added a point on a stretch of five games in which he has found the net against the Minnesota Wild and finished with 15 goals this season. The Calgary Flames have needed him to play a key role, and Yegor Sharangovich has responded by scoring three goals and dishing out two assists in his last eight games, plus a shootout-winning goal, since being a healthy scratch late in March. Sportsnet will air Calgary fans’ remaining games as they chase a playoff push.
