Honor 200 to introduce these new AI features with Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0

HTech is set to expand its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Honor 200 series. The company has confirmed that the upcoming smartphones will run the Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0 out-of-the-box which it claims to be the world’s First Intent Based UI. The Chinese smartphone maker has promised that the latest operating system is designed to deliver an improved AI-driven experience which will be powered by Honor ’s proprietary MagicLM on-device AI large language model.

With features such as an AI large language model, MagicLM, alongside AI capabilities like Magic Capsule , Magic Portal and Magic Ring, the Honor 200 series is expected to boost productivity and enhance the overall user experience.


MagicOS 8.0 : Availability


The MagicOS 8.0 UI will be introduced with the Honor 200 series. However, the company has confirmed that MagicOS 8.0 has been already rolled out for Honor 90 users and will be rolled out for Honor X9b customers within this month.

AI features available with MagicOS 8.0


The Magic Portal feature will be able to understand messages and guide users to relevant apps.
Moreover, MagicOS 8.0 also introduces AI Smart Folders and AI Blur which helps in enhancing usability and privacy. In addition, Smart Folders make accessing apps quicker, while AI Blur safeguards sensitive information in screenshots.

The MagicRing feature will enhance user digital interactions by simplifying multitasking across devices with a swipe, allowing easy access and management of multiple apps. It will support up to 8 services such as network sharing, screen sharing, keyboard and mouse sharing, camera sharing, window sharing, file sharing, call sharing, and notification sharing.

Whether you're using PCs, tablets, or smartphones, MagicRing will streamline your workflow by integrating these functions across different screens. It's like having a unified control centre for all your devices, enhancing productivity and convenience wherever you are.

The Magic Anywhere Door will offer a streamlined file transfer experience through simple drag-and-drop operations. By long-pressing text, pictures, files, and videos, it will allow users to drag them left or right on the screen to store them, enabling quick and efficient handling of important information.

The new 3-finger swipe will also make content collection easier. This will allow users to initiate a global search across smartphone, laptop, and tablet screens by swiping down with three fingers.

Magic Capsule, a versatile touchscreen interface, will simplify access to essential functions like calls and alarms, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple apps. It will keep users updated on important notifications like timers and order statuses.

Other features in the MagicOS 8.0 include the Magic Lock Screen which will offer a full screen Always on Display and the Parallel Spaces feature will offer enhanced security, which will function independently with completely isolated contacts and information, equipped with respective app galleries.
